Municipalité de Saint-Calixte

Saint-Calixte

The present-day Saint-Calixte was originally colonized by Irish settlers and bore the name Kilkenny Township. Then a large influx of immigrants from Eastern countries during the two world wars contributed to the municipality's growth. Here, in the heart of L'Achigan River country, Saint- Calixte's story has always been linked to forestry. Since then, the generations who worked in the forests have been succeeded by vacationers, and today recreation is an important part of the economy. For some authentic local flavour, consider spending a few nights at Camping du Circuit and come and stay at the Les pieds sur terre lodging, an experience you won't miss.
